Just wanted to let everyone know that I am moving away from the Davidson, NC area on April 17. I am sad to leave such a wonderful town that has supported me so much with my photography business. Thanks to everyone who I have had the pleasure of photographing and to those who expressed interest in my photography. I truly enjoyed taking pictures of everyone of you!!!

I am moving to Spartanburg, SC and I hope to grow my business there like I did in Davidson. I am only an hour and a half away if you would like to come there for photographs. I would love to see you.

For a great photographer in Davidson, I would like to recommend Monica Galloway. She is a natural light photographer and does an amazing job capturing the timeless expressions on your childrens faces. Monica's cell phone number is 704-491-3416. I know she is very busy with her photography business and family so you need to get on her schedule early.

Below are some photographs I shot of the Beach-Verhey family before they moved to Faison, NC. I am so honored I had the opportunity to photograph one of Davidson's finest families before they moved on. Kathy, I know I speak for everyone when I say how much I miss you and your whole family. I hope Faison knows how lucky they are to have you!!!

New Year

I just got back from Phoenix, AZ where I attended Imaging USA. I've got lots of new ideas and am so excited about photographing again this year!!!!

Just a couple of new items for 2009: A new line of frames. They are AWESOME!!!! All wood, hand painted and many colors to choose from. Also, I have found a fabulous jewelry line. So.... if you can never decide what to buy your Mom or Grandmother for Mother's Day, Birthdays, etc.... I've got just the gift for you. I'm also carrying a new album line and the colors and fabrics are amazing!!!

Twins

These twins were soooo much fun to photograph. They were so sweet to one another and you could just tell how much they truly loved each other!!! I met this family through Dance Davidson. Our daughters were in the same class for a couple of years. I was so honored when the Mom emailed me and asked me to photograph her kids. They are such a beautiful family. Even the dog!!!

Fun Afternoon

I had so much fun with this family. I can remember when these kids were in preschool and younger. It's crazy how fast time flies. I used to exercise with their Mom a loooooooong time ago. If I took an exercise class with her now, I think I would pass out. I can't even walk up my stairs without getting winded. Thats another story....

I am not going to post any photographs with all kids or family this time of year in case anyone decides to use one for a Christmas card.

I am a little behind right now on my posts. Sorry to everyone waiting to see a sneak peek of their proofs. I will get them up soon. In the meantime, here is a family I did a couple of weeks ago. They were so much fun!! I love meeting new families!! I had to bust out my knowledge of Hannah Montana songs for this second grader!!! Not too hard for me to do since that is what I hear in my house from the time my girls get home from school until they go to bed at night.

First Day of School

My 5 year old started kindergarten this week and my 7 year old started second grade. I have been anticipating this day all summer long. I cried when I put Camille on the bus for the first time and just knew I would do the same for Elise. However, when a bus came around the corner, Elise took off running towards it. We had to yell for her to stop because it wasn't even the right bus. As you can see below, she was waving her arms up in the air and yelling all the way down the street. Needless to say, it was not a sad moment!!

I am so lucky that I get to photograph the most beautiful babies!!! This little guy was so cute that I had a hard time leaving. I had so much fun working with him and his parents. Thank you for making my job so much fun!!!

Baby Boy

Look at this adorable baby boy!!! He was so beautiful and ALERT!!! I kept waiting on him to fall asleep and he was just so happy and content to be awake. Mostly all of his photographs are of him with his eyes open. I did catch him a couple of times closing his eyes, but not for long!! He has the sweetest big brother and sister. They just loved to hold him and give him tons of kisses!!

This is the World's BEST Babysitter!!! Not only is she the best babysitter, but she is just the nicest, most polite, young adult you will ever meet. I can only hope that my girls will grow up to be like her!! She has helped me out a lot this summer and when I tell someone that I have Jenna babysitting, they say, "The Jenna??". I say, "yes, The Jenna!!" She will be going to graduate school soon and we will definitely miss her but wish her the best of luck!!

I love repeat customers!!! Nothing makes a photographer feel better than to be called again. I took pictures of Kate when she was a baby last year and as for Drew, I've photographed him a lot over the past couple of years. It's so much fun watching them grow!!! Kate was so sweet and held her arms out for me to hold her. I could of held her all morning instead of taking pictures!!! Drew is always so happy and bubbly and has the cutest southern accent you have ever heard. When I'm finished taking pictures, I always offer the kids some kind of surprise (candy!!). Drew was so excited about the "surprise", but when he looked into my bag he looked so disappointed. I asked him what would he have wanted?? He said, he would like an apple. Well.... I was all out of apples. Not a common "surprise" that I have in my goody bag. So on my way home that day, I stopped by the grocery store and bought him some apples.

A Sunday Afternoon in Davidson

We walked up and down Main Street and then over to the college to find some shade. The children (and parents) were so good despite the hot temperatures that day. It's always so nice to see siblings get along and be sweet to one another. The Mom is the owner of Classic Bride in Davidson. She is so nice and her dresses are beautiful, so if you of know of any upcoming brides, tell them to call and make an appointment at Classic Bride.

I first photographed these children about 2 years ago. It is always so much fun to see how they have grown and changed over the years. These kids are particularly special because their mom is a sorority sister and good friend of mine from college. I don't see her very often and am proud that she drove up from Matthews for me to capture these precious memories of her family.

I love photographing this little girl. She is so sweet and has the prettiest long blond hair and blue eyes. She brought with her some fun items to photograph too. The buttons and plate you see in the last picture belonged to her Great-Grandmother. Her mother used to play with them when she was a little girl and thought it would be neat to have pictures of her daughter playing with them too. What a special memory!!!

This family was such a pleasure to photograph. The little baby was the smallest and cutest baby I have ever held!!! My Juliette is already getting so big, so it is such a treat to be able to hold and photograph other people's newborns!!! I could have stayed all day and played with his 5 year old brother. This precious little boy was only 12 hours old when I photographed him. His Grandmother is in England, so I thought I would post these pictures of her newest grandson to enjoy. Congratulations to the whole family!! We are so excited he is finally here!!

DCPC Preschool

This is my third spring in a row taking candid black and white photographs of the adorable DCPC preschoolers at play. I have so much fun doing this and it's amazing how the children have grown each year. The one year olds pretty much just play and don't pay too much attention to me. However, there was one little girl who kept telling me NOT to take her picture. The two year olds keep playing too but at a MUCH faster pace. The three year olds come out on the playground screaming, "take my picture.... watch me do this... take my picture doing this....take my picture with my friend....etc... Last but not least, the four year olds. They are the hardest for me to get a candid shot of. I think their Mom's must take their pictures all the time because if they see the camera pointing in their direction they just freeze and smile at me.

I had a blast taking all of these photographs. They will be on sale Tuesday, May 6 at the Preschool Family Dinner Night. A portion of the total sales will be donated to the preschool. Thank you to the preschool director, teachers, and parents who allow me to come in and photograph the children. It is definitely something I look forward to each year.

These are two of my favorite boys to photograph. I can't believe how big they are... I've been photographing the older one since he was 2 and the little guy since he was born. It has been so much fun watching them grow up. This session was particularly special because I got to photograph their cousin as well. She has the most beautiful blue eyes!!!

At the Mint Museum

What a great day! I got to photograph this adorable 2 year old in the most beautiful garden you've ever seen!!! I just followed him around the path and tried to capture his expressions as he explored rocks, pine cones, and even a real fairy house. I have known his mom since I moved here, and think she is great!!! It was so nice to finally meet her son!
